(LOS ANGELES) -- A LAPD Central Division officer rescued a woman from a tent fire early Thursday morning.
Officers saw a tent located on 5th Street and Towne Avenue on fire with a silhouette of a female lying down inside. One of the officers made contact with the woman occupant and pulled her out of the tent.
The tent went up in flames after the occupant was outside. The Los Angeles Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire.
The officer and the occupant sustained minor burns.
The fire was caused by a candle left burning in the tent by the occupant.
